Honghe Cigarette Factory Project Management Information System

There are more technique rebuild and new projects in enterprise with the development of science and technology, the competition of market, therefore project management is becoming more and more important in enterprise management. In order to improve project management, building project management information system in enterprise is a very necessary and effective means. The research of this paper is based on the programming and designing of the project management information of HongHe Cigarette Factory. First, this paper discusses domestic and overseas condition of project management development, and the qualification for developing project management information system according to its characteristics. Then, it puts forward the method, which combines prototyping method based on improving waterfall model with Object-Oriented method, in term of comparing several popular methods in information system development and clarifying their advantages and disadvantages. In the analysis of the system, the cost/schedule of project will be controlled and appraised using Earned Value Concept. In the designing of the system, it is developed by using Powerbuilder, which is a kind of real Object-Oriented developing tool. Powerful Oracle, being a large Database Management System, is adopted as the database system. At last, this paper points out the weakness of the system, and puts forward some ideas for the future development. The result shows that the programming and designing of the system is reasonable and efficient. The means provided is feasible which can improve the current situation of the project management for HongHe Cigarette Factory. At the same time, the research result gives reference value for other enterprise in establishing project management information system.
