Study Of Cross-strait Competitiveness Of Agricultural Products And Agricultural Cooperation Model

It is impossible for the economic cooperation between Mainland China and Taiwan to deteriorate. For agriculture is an industry attained most concerns, it is significant to make a systematic study on the course of bilateral agricultural cooperation.Because of the importance of this issue and its effects on bilateral agricultural cooperation, this paper give a brief introduction on the development of the whole bilateral cooperation at the beginning. Then the competitive power of the Mainland China and Taiwan is evaluated and analyzed. This paper also explored the agricultural products?complementarity of the two regions. In succession, this paper discussed those cooperative patters in existence and feasible in the future of agricultural products between the two regions. At last, the author gave some advice on the basis of the analysis on factors that limit bilateral agricultural cooperation.The author thinks that after more than forty years?development, the agriculture of the two regions have been in the different stage, and the bilateral agricultural cooperation should be the cooperation between developed agriculture and developing agriculture. Because most agricultural products of the main agricultural products are those products that the two regions have comparative advantages at the same time, the main bilateral agricultural cooperation should be the cooperation between the products that have comparative advantages and the products that have potential comparative advantages.After more than ten years?development, the bilateral agricultural cooperation now has four patters: trade, investment, reciprocally visiting, overall cooperation. Based on the analysis on the competitive power of the agricultural products of the two regions, the author thinks that the bilateral competition of the agricultural products trade are more than the bilateral complementarity, so the bilateral agricultural invest cooperation should be more2developed. In addition to the analysis on the existing cooperation patters, this paper also explored the feasible of the institutional cooperation and guild cooperation.The political factors, the distribution of the interests and the agricultural protection are the main restriction of the bilateral agricultural cooperation now. The first thing we have to do is to improve the governmental works which will strengthen the bilateral understanding and confidence, Second is to undergird the construction of substructure, third is to organize agricultural technology cooperations and communications.
