As a regional power with global influence, China centers its security rights and interests on perimeter areas. After the Cold War, East Asian security structure began to re-regulate and change. With the growth of China's national power and the sharpening of Sino-American structure contradiction, China's security situation has become more complicated and deteriorated. Especially in East Asia, the relationships among the powers are undergoing various splitting and combination. East Asia is most closely related to China's interests in politics, military, economy and culture and embodies the most concentrated contradiction and focus of China's security. This makes East Asia the most complicated and important area that influences China's security. Therefore, it is significant for international politics study to analyze the enormous changes taken place in East Asian international security environment and to redesign the nation's security strategy from the perspective of the new security concept. The first part analyzes the East Asian security situation from the angle of geopolitics. East Asia is an arena for the four great powers, those are, China, America, Japan and Russia. It is also the center of the strategy and interests of the Asia-Pacific main strategic powers and the focus of the world's strategic patterns. Through the analysis of the geopolitical security strategy and geopolitical security relation of East-Asian powerful nations and the analysis of their strategic choice on China's problems, we can clearly draw a conclusion that China's security situation is deteriorating. The second part analyzes the East-Asian security situation China is now facing from the angle of comprehensive security. "Comprehensive security" has already become an internationally adopted and widely used security concept and strategic thought. Observing the East-Asian security situation China is now facing from the angle of comprehensive security replenishes and furthers the observing from the angle of geopolitics. This paper will make us realize the severe security challenges China is now facing through argumentation of politics, military, economy, culture and information. The third part is about the author's thinking on China's security. This paper chiefly makes an analysis of many disadvantageous elements in East Asia which influence China's security. However, opportunities exist side by side with challenges. How to take advantage of opportunities and to meet challenges to strengthen China's national security is very important in our country's international strategy. The author hence offers some approaches for discussion from the angle of new security concept.
