Capacity Management In Manufacturing Systems Research

Production capacity management plays an important role during the whole process from planning to actual production. And there are so many various factors outside or inside whose varieties will result in the changes of capacity supply and demand.The main task of this subject is to build an appropriate, integrated and effective capacity management system to provide an assistant decision-making tool to improve enterprise's capacity management level. In this dissertation, some relevant theories and methods are put forward to be studied firstly. Then some critical questions involved in production capacity management are analysed and researched in detail. Based on these studies above, functional characteristics of capacity management system are summarized and a five-steps method to improve production capacity is advanced, besides the functional and information modals are established. Based on the aluminum product workshop production, a capacity management system is designed which can realize the balance of capacity and load and can track the production planning dynamically. At last, the capacity management software was developed. The results of the application in practice show the advantages and practicability of the system.
