As the development of the tourism industry, more and more people go out of their home and enjoy happy travel program provided by tourism destination. Numerous travel attractions and travel products are introduced to the consumer. The competition between tourism destinations, travel agents and travel products is so serious that finding an efficient way to increase market shares became the most urgent requirement. Nowadays the countries of tourism destination, the tourism organizations and tourism enterprises care most about what Marketing and Marketing Strategy they should apply. The thesis of this paper aims to make discussion on this hot topic.The author first investigated the status of Tourism Destination Marketing both in mainland and abroad and made many information accumulation. From the information she got she has a profile of the study of Tourism Destination Marketing in academe and the development of the study. Later comes the analysis of successful cases in four typical tourism destination marketing, beautiful natural scenery marketing, modern cities marketing, vacation sites marketing and fairyland marketing. She got the key points of these four types of Tourism Destination Marketing through careful study.By investigation and analysis of all these marketing strategy the author elucidate the necessity of practicing Tourism Destination Marketing base on the Michael E. Porter' s Competition Advantage and Competition Strategy theory. The marketing of the tourism destinations, the tourism organizations and tourism enterprises can major on specialty promotion, market exploration and new product development. In the last part of thesis the author make a competition guided marketing for a tourism destination and set down the marketing strategy for it.
