Geographically, Northeastern Asia does not include the USA. But from the aspects of politics, economy, military and safety, the USA has extremely important strategic benefits and significance in this region. Therefore, the strategic position of Northeastern Asia is extraordinarily important in America' s security strategy constitution. This thesis analyzes this point from the following aspects: the geographical features of Northeastern Asia; the historical evolution of America's security strategy in Northeast-em Asia; contradictions and conflicts that affect America's security strategy in Northeastern Asia; the adjustment of America's security strategy in Northeastern Asia and its influence after the Cold War.Chapter One: The geographical features of Northeastern Asia. Northeastern Asia, which is situated at the joint point of fringe strategy and marine strategy on the Euro -Asian continent, owns important sea passages of the world and is an intersection of multi - cultures. During the Cold War, Northeastern Asia is the forward position of confrontation between East and West; after the Cold War, it became the joint part of benefits of China, USA, Japan and Russia. The third phase: 1941 - 1969,the America interfered in the affairs of northeastern Asia, and controlled entirely its security; the security strategy in Northeastern Asia became the emphasis of that of the Asia- Pacific area. The fourth phase: 1969 - 1991, the America was still controlling the security of Northeastern Asia, but the role of the alliances rose.Chapter Three: The contradictions and conflicts influencing the security. After the Cold War, the world situation tended to be alleviated and the regional situation in Northeastern Asia appeared to be relatively stable. However, America was still the leader of Asia - Pacific area and the Northeastern Asia and it made a great adjustment on the security strategy in Northeastern Asia.
