It is recognized that literature is non-boundary. When human history begins with a new century, the structure of worldwide culture takes on a new feature of integrating, co-existing, therefore, the Confucian culture of China is now being adopted by more and more western developed countries, such as the United States, Japan and Singapore, in the field of management of modern enterprises. The adoption of the Confucian elite thoughts becomes even popular in the circle of modern human resource management.This essay is to state the theory of the development of elites according to the ideas of the representatives of Confucian thoughts ?Confucius, Meng Zi and Xun Zi, which takes up a whole chapter. The three following chapters are focused on the research and exploration of the Confucian elite thoughts as well as the practice and indication in modern human resource management cases. On the base of the former four chapters' statement, the last chapter summarizes the similarities and differences between the Confucian elite thoughts and modern human resource management theory, thereof a conclusion is drawn: the Confucian elite thoughts probe the regulation of man's growing process , emphasize the independence and perfection of human nature and the exploration of human being's inner quality on the base of the sufficient respect to the objective requirements of development of human nature, which is not only the key but also the goal of the research on modern resource management, on the other hand, we must be aware of the old and deep-rooted federal ideas among the Confucian thoughts, for instance, the view of loyalty and benefit, the view of etiquette and following. Thus, we should inherit andadopt the soul of the Confucian elite thoughts, meanwhile, we should differ and get rid of the harmful part of it.In one word, the aim of this essay is to explore the relation between Chinese traditional culture and modern human resource management theory, and the origin and the development of it and also some inspirations we could obtain from it; and make the past serve the present; make the traditional cultural ideas serve the modern human resource management theory. After China's entry to WTO, foreign enterprises' participation in China's economic development is sure to bring about fierce conflicts in culture and ideology between eastern and western world, the result will be that people's view of life, of value, of ethic will face great challenge. In order to carry forward the soul of the Confucian culture, Chinese must resist the negative effect brought by the bad part of the western culture, learn the advanced managing skills from western countries making the spirit of western management theory serve China's development, only in this way can state-hold enterprises rejuvenate through making full use of human resource which is called number- one resource to occupy a position in the world market.
