| With the rapid development of the science and technology, human being has come into a full-new epoch, i.e. the knowledge economic era while he comes into the new century. The knowledge has become a essential productive element. Under this background how to strengthen the management of the knowledge and improve the competition of the enterprise with the maximum profit have been a new task for management science. At the same time the "knowledge management" emerges with the date's call, and a warmly research of it arises in the management science community and the managers of the enterprises. But the relative research is not mature enough. Sufficient investigation must be taken to establish the theory system of knowledge management and to supervise the knowledge effectively. The management of the knowledge is in the state of introduction in our country now. In recent years we have seen and heard more "knowledge economy" than "knowledge management". In this dissertation author tries his best to systematically explain and analyze the issues about the knowledge management on the base of the research up to date at home and abroad, and come into the correspondence conclusion.This dissertation consists of the following four sections:Section 1: the preface. In this section simply introduce the progress and the main features of the knowledge economy. Analyse the influences of the knowledge economy on modern management, which include that economy globalization has taken great to the enterprises, that the knowledge-intensive industry has become the leading factor of modern economic increment and "knowledgenizing" will be the only way to sustain its state or to update it for traditional industry, that as a self-governed production factor the knowledge has dominated others, that the rapid development of information technology and the great improvement of fundamental establishment of information industry has provided the basic environment to the operation of organization, which is different from industrialization epoch in essence. At last give a brief introduction of research conditions of knowledge management in our country and overseas.Section 2: the research of the basic issues of knowledge management. In this section the author mostly investigates of the basic issues of knowledge management. Firstly discuss the conception of knowledge and its characteristics, including the definition, the relationship between it and data and information, the classification method, the arrangement and the five main features, i.e. complexity, non-income decreasing, share increasing, lasting variability, the same value view and fusion with faith etc. Secondly analyze the meaning of knowledge management and put forward its essence, which is transferring proper knowledgeto proper man at proper time with the maximum value of the enterprise. In other words, sharing the knowledge, making use of the wisdom of the collectivity, we improve the reaction capability and the creativity to enhance the competition of the enterprises. Thirdly summarize the six basic principles obeyed by knowledge management, i.e. the share of knowledge, the cooperation of the team, the recognition of capability, the dig of the value of knowledge, the discrimination of knowledge stream and the substitution of knowledge capital. Fourthly discuss the organization structure of knowledge management and put forward the demands to set up the organization structure of knowledge management based on its functions and application. Fifthly evaluate the common techniques and tools of knowledge management, such as the base tools to propagate knowledge, expert system and artificial intelligence, the nerve network and vague system, knowledge bank etc.Section 3: the knowledge management project and its implement. The knowledge management is the practice based on its theory.
