This thesis is to pose a strategy for a corporation in complexity systems. A real corporation is a complexity system, which was composed of several internal complexity systems and open to external complexity systems. Therefore, a new theory named complexity theory is used in this thesis to help corporations cope with challenges in today's complexity world. The thesis first makes a review on the development of complexity theory. It remarks that as a corporation must have troubles in complexity systems, shift in management paradigm is needed. Decision-makers should draw up a strategy in complexity systems. The thesis concludes through quantitative analysis that both internal and external systems of Chinese corporations are becoming more and more complex. It then gives an explanation of the change. Internal factors include corporation expansion, merging, employee diversity and self-organization. External ones include information technology, globalization, institutions reforming and economic structural change. The thesis puts an emphasis on the strategies for the corporations to adopt to in complexity systems. Standardization strategy, contracting strategy and stabilization strategy is to eliminate system complexity. Fast-moving strategy and resource preserving strategy is to adapt to system complexity. And self-organization strategy is to make use of complexity. It also makes a comparison between different strategies and argues that in the long run self-organization strategy is the best. At last the thesis draws out a framework for corporations to carry out strategies in complexity systems, which includes business process system, organization structure, information system, company culture and circumstances.
