As franchising plays as one of modern marketing forms, its novel and unique operation idea appears strong vitality. Now the globe economy is merging into an organic whole, and the international trade is opening. Along with these developments and under the pushing force from the waves of intellectual economy, franchising is going to play a more important role in every country's economic life and marketing field. China is the most potential market in the world. So it is of great importance to introduce franchising, the fairly modern marketing method, to such market that is full of vigor and vitality, and promote its development rapidly and healthy.The main body of this thesis is made up of four sections. The first part is a brief introduction on franchising. It makes clear the definitions and forms of franchising. It also studies the development of franchising abroad, including history, present situation, developing tendency, management ways of government, etc. Finally, it explains the reasons why franchising development quickly in economy by using econ.omical theories.From management, strategy management, economics and risk perspective, the second section Studies the basic theory of franchising. The third part explains the development of franchising in China, including its necessity, status quo, and difficulty analysis and solves. The fourth section is of great importance, because it try to explain how to develop franchising efficiently and successfully. Through many cases, you can find some solutions that may be benefit to you. Franchising is still strange in China. As it is a newborn thing, theoretical studying and practice is on the first step. Since franchising comes from the western, this thesis makes the basic concepts further clear, and makes the expression fit Chinese custom further. All of these are contributed to understand definitions more accurately, and logical relation between concepts quite clearly. After synthetically studying on internal and external history of franchising development, present situation and tendency, this thesis offered some suggestions on developing franchising in China.
