As a large-scale mainstay enterprise of national technical equipment, China National Erzhong Group Co. (simplified Erzhong hereafter) facilitates the state's industrialization process, thus plays an irreplaceable role in the state economy constructions.However, under the pressure of global information wave and increasingly fierce market competition, Erzhong, which was established and brought up during Planned Economy period, is short of ability to cope with such a situation because of its traditional pyramidal managing structure and complicated business flow. Many reform measures, such as organization reconstruction and managing mechanism transition, have been executed, thus a modern enterprise system is gradually built up. But there is a wide gap between Erzhong's managing level and modern managing level abroad, and this gap is still being widened because Erzhong attaches more importance to reform than management, pays more attention to system innovation than to managing innovation. How to get rid of this embarrassing situation is a puzzle to be resolved by Erzhong.Being an employee, the author thinks it's urgent for Erzhong to see clearly the trend of worldwide modern enterprise management and to build Erzhong's own modern enterprise managing mode based on its real conditions, consequently, it can boost up its competitive ability, to improve its managing level, and to facilitate its innovation and development.ERP surpasses traditional MRPII (Manufacturing Resources Planning) and absorbs the most advanced managing ideas in the world, such as JIT (Just In Time), LP(Lean Production), TQC (Total Quality control). By allocating and balancing all resources (HR, capital,information, material, equipment, time, methods, etc.) within a corporation, ERP, being a strong and powerful informative tool, can help enterprises polish up capital operating ability, establish high-efficient supply chain, improve production efficiency, reduce cost and better customer service. Apart from the above, ERP is also a modern managing mode to present enterprises' competitive advantages and enhance marketing competition. ERP is the practical and feasible solution to Erzhong's problems.The aim of this article is to help Erzhong understand ERP and quicken its ERP execution so as to lead it to success.This article is divided into five chapters. To make Erzhong roughly understand ERP, the first chapter introduces theoretic essentials of ERP, its overseas development and its domestic application.In the second chapter, the basic situation of Erzhong is overviewed first. Then, it reaches the conclusion that it is a must to implement ERP in Erzhong by analying its necessity and feasibility.In the third chapter, by studying ERP application in Erzhong, this article suggests a total plan and phased implementation based on Erzhong's real situation.In Phase I, the importance is placed on strengthening Erzhong's marketing competition and establishing basic frame of ERP system. Phase I covers four steps. The first step is to implement BOM thus to get rid of handmade parts inventory tables and improve basic data management. The second step is to execute marketing management, plan management, and supply management, manufacturing management, stockpile management, transportation management and quality management. The third step is to increase functions of project management and finance management thus to achieves close conjunctions among flows of material, capital and information. The fourth step is toimplement human resources management and customer relation management along with Erzhong's development.Combined with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP), Phase II focuses on the production cost reduction and implementation of manufacturing management mode.Phase III aims at improving corporation's diatheses and integrating CAD, CAPP and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) into ERP system.In chapter IV, ERP implementation approaches are put forward.Chapter V analyzes factors th...
