Cultural conflict is a common sight in sino-foreign joint ventures. Managers pay such less attention to cultural conflict that it exerts progressively negative consequences on development of enterprises. So, it is so much necessary to study on managing cultural conflict in sino-foreign joint ventures.On the basis of relative theories, and in combination with my work experiences in trans-culture management in sino-foreign joint venture, this paper analyzes manifestation of cultural conflict, studies the roots of conflict, puts forward some strategies to manage cultural conflict in joint ventures, and at last states how to choose and implement the strategies in ALCOA Tianjin.By inference from relative theories and analysis on cases, this paper shows the way how to manage the cultural conflict in ALCOA Tianjin. The conclusion it draws is also suited to other sino-foreign JointVentures.
