New Development Of The World Automobile Industry After China's Accession To The Wto Countermeasures

The thesis mainly includes three parts. Firstly, it introduces the development of the world automobile industry in its output, trade and technology since 1990. Secondly, it depicts the new waves of the auto industry's internationalization, globalization and transnational merge. Thirdly, according to the status quo of Chinese auto industry and the opportunity VS challenge as china access to the WTO, the thesis puts up some countermeasures for the development of Chinese auto industry.In 1990's, because of the saturation in the traditional market, the discrepancy between the potential demand and the actual demand in the new emerging market, and the economy slump for ten years of Japan, the world overall auto production increases slowly. As for the trade, it grows stably. In the meanwhile, great changes have taken place in the auto industry with the combination of the microelectronic technology and the traditional auto manufacturing technology.The world auto industry has taken on a more internationalizing and more globlizing look in 1990's; international capital cooperation and international technical cooperation play a key role in this trend.In facing of the acute competition, how to develop the Chinese auto industry as china's entry into the WTO? How to seize the opportunities for great development while counterattacking the challenges? The thesis offers propositions in three levels:the suitable strategy for Chinese auto industry should be the combination of the import-substitution strategy, the export-orientation strategy and the cut-across strategy. As for the development pattern, china should stick to the self-development pattern, followed by the joint venture and the foreign capital dominant pattern in the meantime. Only by pursuing the above-mentioned strategy and pattern, together with some adequate policies can Chinese auto industry grow into the key industry of the national economy.
