Study Of Biomedical R & D Company's Organizational Structure

The industry of bio-medicine is the new industry in the 21st century. It brings enormous social benefits and economic benefits because of the improvement of the health of the human beings. Bio-medical research and development companies, as the driving and implemental forces of this industry, bear this important task. The level of its management, has directly determined whether the research and development of biological medicine is efficient or not. Organizational structure is as an important part of management. Whether it has been designed rationally or not has much to do with the level of the management.So, a study on organizational structure of a R&D company of biological medicine will help improve its management, and thus to further promote the development of the industry of biological medicine, which will greatly benefit the human beings and will also bring the enormous social and economic benefits. In February 2001, with the accomplishment of the array of the Human Genome Project, a batch of bio-medical research and development companies based on genetic engineering appeared in our country. So far, any thesis or works on bio-medical research and development company's organizational structure and design has not yet being seen. But, materials, such as summaries file are already easy to access. These are the foundations for this research. In addition, the relevant design theory of organizational structure and models of organizational structure of enterprises offer the theoretical foundation for this research.The author of this thesis has selected three sample companies for this research. They are Beijing Bio-medical High-tech Incubator, Beijing Tianshikang Medicinal Science & Technology Development co., Ltd and Beijing Jinsaishi Bio-medical Developing co., Ltd. The author has done some investigation, analyses and research on their organizational structures, and then with the characteristics of bio-medical research and development process and the existing relevant theories, mapped out a model of organizational structure for bio-medical research and development companies, which may keep away from the existing defects inhabited in the existing bio-medical R&D companies.
