With the unceasing increase of tourism demands, the traditional sightseeing and resorting tourism dependant on high-grade and reputable scenic spots hasn" t met people' s demands. Therefore, tourism must continuously develop into deeper profundity and wider scope-Although the average income for people in countryside increases and the urban and rural tourism demands grow, a regional tourism system needs more tourism supplies. Both urban and rural tourism enterprises need exploring deeply and constantly, and make full use of mutually complementary advantages to accelerate mutual development, which is the epoch background of the urban and rural tourism mutual exploration.This treatise presents the model of tourism system first, which points out that tourism system is composed of five sub-systems: destination system, tourism origin system, transportation system, promotion system, and supporting system, in which tourism promotion is the managing core of the tour ism market, and the tourism supporting system is the macroscopic adjustment system. Moreover, tourism operates through such a circulating structure : destination-promotion-tourism origin-transportation -destination. Furthermore, tourism system also can be regarded to consist of relatively stable system factors and variable tourism currents. And the tourism system' s operation completes mainly through tourism currents, which promote the construction of tourism system factors, and reflect the condition of tourism operation on the other hand, That is to say that regional tourism can be promoted in constructive and operative respects, respectively.In addition, this thesis analyses the urban and rural tourism system in a certain region by the model of tourism system, and there are many mutual complementarities in the sub-systems of urban and rural tourism systems, which include the two-way mutual complementarities of supplies and requirements between destination system and tourism origin system, the shared complementarities of transportation system, the operation mutual complementarities of promotion system, the inclining mutual complementarities and the concrete complementary contents referring to substances, energies, tourismorigins, information and technology.The mutual complementarities of good and bad in many aspects of urban and rural tourism systems is the basis of urban and rural tourism exploration promoted mutually.In section three this treatise presents a mutual promotion model of urban and rural tourism. It points out tourism system is an open system including the import and export of substantial energy and information feedback, and whose principal behaviorists are tourists, governments, residents, traveling agencies and its employees. In addition, urban and rural tourism system are operated and adjusted by tourism currents which promote the construction of factors of tourism destination and transportation system and embody the tourism promotion activities on the other hand. What' s more, tourism currents are regulated by tourism principal behaviorists' actions which have something to do with the roles, motives and environments of tourism system. Consequently, the mutual promotion development finally focuses on the adjustments of the principal behaviorists' actions in the may that the changes of environment and policy adjust tourism principal behaviorists' actions to make the mutual promotion of urban and rural tourism systems develop harmoniously. Since the government is the principal behaviorist of the tourism current adjustment in the process of the mutual promotion development of urban and rural tourism.Finally , the treatise puts forward a reasonably logical conception and corresponding developing suggestions in terms of Shapingba's tourism mutual exploration on the basis of its present condition and an appropriate contrast and analysis between urban tourism and rural tourism of the district Shapingba.
