Xinjiang Tourism Development Analysis And Countermeasures

After the tourism became a key economic power house in China, the central government has made the strategic decision of developing the western region at the threshold of the new century. The western part of China covers a large territory and is rich in tourism resources, maintaining the potential power of developing our nation's tourism in the new century. Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the north west is blessed with a lot of fascinating tourism attractions. There unique natural landscape and long-standing culture of minority groups make it the ideal tourism destination for tourists from home and abroad. The tourism industry there has developed by leaps and bounds during the past decade and make a great contribution to the economy of the whole region. However, it is facing many problems, including backward infrastructure, short of investments and lack of various tourism products, which has been the bottleneck of the tourism development.Beginning with the present situation, this research analyses the advantages and disadvantages and sets forth solutions from different angles. According to the thinking of system and sustainable development, the paper combines theory with practice, conducts thorough research into tourism industry and draws up ideas in order to make it serve as a locomotive for the region's economy.
