As the core part of information industry, Enterprise information system (EIS) is developed rapidly and widely used in companies. But EIS is a complicate social-tech system, the evaluation of EIS is inevitably an social process. Traditional project evaluation system and methods can't meet this demand. So how to evaluate EIS project and how to define the degree of success are becoming the hot and hard issue in the information system research field. The main content of this article is the research on the theory and methods of EIS success evaluation and the construction of new evaluation system and operation method. In addition, case study method is introduced to testify the validity and reliability of the evaluation system developed in this research. The main job of this article includes:Firstly, the complexity of EIS evaluation is analyzed in detail from three aspects: multi-entity, multi-phase and multi-level.Secondly, based on the complexity analysis and the researches done by foreign and domestic researchers, EIS success evaluation system is proposed.Thirdly, by using the data colleted by investigation questionnaire, the weight of each phase, each entity and each index in the evaluation system are defined under the guidance with AHP method and SPSS software. Finally, in-depth case study is done in the Dalian Pfizer Pharmaceutical Limited Company. By using the evaluation system proposed, the Manufacturing, Accounting and Planning System(the MAPS) is evaluated. The purpose is to validate whether the evaluation system is feasible and helpful.
