| As We know, the modern information technology is changing the products and production process, the enterprise itself and the industry and even the competition itself .ERP( Enterprise Resource Planning), which contains a lot of advanced management thoughts and management methods is put forward under the condition that the network and communication technology as the representatives of the information technology are now developing rapidly. Seen from the application of ERP in advanced country enterprises, the ERP system can surely bring a large profit for the enterprise and promote the competition power of enterprise if the ERP system put into effect.The application of ERP has just been unfolding in our country in recent years, and the government also put forward that we can promote the modernization of our country by informationization .At present, many industries have all put forward their information system development strategy, hoping to modernize their management by way of the information technologies. Tobacco industries also have the same idea. Now seen from the application of ERP in many enterprises, many problems still exist in spite of their enthusiasm .The reason is that a large gap has already existed in enterprise systems and the thoughts of managers compared with the requirement of market economy due to the influences of traditional planned economy system. More over, our market economy system has not ripened, and there is a course that ERP theory emerging from the west advanced countries' mature market economy can be digested and absorbed in our country. We still have to constantly explore in the field of ERP application seeking for the suitable methods of ERP application for Chinese enterprises in view of our country's special market economy conditions. Owing to my years-workingexperiences in Guiyang Cigarette Factory, I am familiar with tobacco industry, knowing that there is a big gap between the tobacco industry and other industries,which are more advanced on the aspect of information system construction, though tobacco enterprises are all large influential taxpayers and have accumulated amount of fortune. Along with the more and more fierce competition in tobacco market, the information system construction of tobacco enterprises becomes urgent. Concerned with the development of Guiyang cigarette factory for a long time, I always think about the methods of ERP application in Guiyang cigarette factory by way of the knowledge learned from MBA programs, hoping to find better methods of ERP application in Guiyang cigarette factory and to give some good advices to the factory. Then I write this article as my MBA's graduation paper for the purposes mentioned above, and intend to provide it to the factory as my proposition.The paper has four major parts: the introduction of ERP theory, the analysis of feasibility, the ERP system planning and the major risks and control measures. The summary of ERP theory is the first part, which mainly introduces the ERP conception and the management ideas contained in ERP. At the same time, this part also explains the functions of ERP and its effects to business management. In the second part, the conditions and the major problems of Guiyang cigarette factory are introduced mainly from the external environment and the factory's business administration conditions. It is explained that the implementation of ERP is necessary in Guiyang cigarette factory. The feasibility of ERP application as well as the implementation of ERP system in this factory has also been analyzed in this part.The ERP system plan in the third chapter is the emphasis of the paper. The ERP system objective and the guidance principle of implementation ERP have firstly been put forward.
