Government Performance Evaluation Theory

The government's construction of capacity is always a difficult problem in the administration realm. However, the key puzzle is how to evaluate the government's performance. If you want to improve the present performance ,you must know how to evaluate firstly. So, the evaluation of government performance goes with the whole course of government development. But, this problem comes to be a academic topic after the second world war.This thesis consists of 5 parts.' To begin with, this paper introduces the definition of government performance and criticize the traditional principle of efficiency . The second part as one of the important parts in this paper ,gives a review of history and development of government performance evaluation in China and other countries. Part three based on part two summarizes the necessities and feasibilities in china at present. Part 4 and part 5 try to discuss the government performance evaluation synthetically; especially, part 5 points out the main problems and brings forward the suggestion on how to push government performance evaluation in China.
