This paper takes York Refrigeration Marine (China) Ltd., follow up referred to as York Refrigeration as an example. Taking advantage of my knowledge of operational management, marketing and financial management acquired during my MBA study, as well as my personal experience in sales, I embark on analyzing in accordance with the changing trend of the sales volume in the market and the feedback of the customers. The paper pays major attention to the location selection of the warehouse to store compressor spare part and also the market competing strategy for York Refrigeration, thus pointing out the measures York Refrigeration should take in the near fixture with the aim of maintaining and strengthening its competitive advantage of products in China's market and markets of surrounding areas for greater development in the future.This paper is divided into five chapters:In the first chapter, the author first analyzes the overall situation and the developing trend of the domestic air-conditioning and refrigeration industry, then in accordance with the characteristics of the products of York Refrigeration the author pays major attention to analyzing the current situation of ship-using air-conditioning and refrigeration market.In the second chapter, the author first introduces the basic condition of York Refrigeration. Then by analyzing the ship-using and land-using air-conditioning and refrigeration market in both the aspects of quantity and quality, the author points out the problems occurred and bring forward solutions to the market competing strategy, i.e., to establish a spare part warehouse in China because of its worsening customer service.In the third chapter an in-depth study is carried out concerning the location selection of the company's warehouse in the two levels of point selection and location selection. In the beginning, factor analysis is used to decide the procedures and factors to be considered in the process of point selection of York Refrigeration. By comparison a conclusion is drawn, on the basis of which the paper discusses the second level of the location selection decision, which is to select the city and the area where the warehouse is located. The factors to be considered and the basic principles are given to build up the model of the location selection of York-2-Refrigeration and meanwhile an arithmetic case is provided to theoretically solve the problem of location selection of the company.The author further points out in the fourth chapter the meaning of location selection. The paper indicates that location selection is a important step to carry out the company's competitiveness. Furthermore, some relevant measures are given.Finally, the author concludes the paper.
