| The concept of "supply chain" marks a new epoch in the logistics management. The logistics & supply chain management is a newly-emerging discipline, which is supported by many others. Academically speaking, it is widely accepted that four subjects are most closely-related to the research ,which are management science, operational research, economics & systems theory. In the past few decades, most of the researches are carried out from the angle of management science & operational research. The author is dedicated to finding a new path. Since supply chain is an economic system, the systems economics is undoubtedly an ideal research tool, which overlaps with economics and systems theory. The supply chain economic system(SCES) is an integration of the supply chain economic elements and their interrelations.First, the thesis presents the most significant characteristics of SCES: the whole emergence, self - organization & the information asymmetry. The following chapters develop accordingly. Chapter 3 focuses on the self -organizing process of the SCES, concerning the two branches of the self-organization theory : Synergetics and dissipative structure theory. Chapter 4 deals with another important phenomenon in the SCES: informationasymmetry of the members, which is classified into two groups--adverseselection & moral hazard. The creative ideas of the thesis lie in the following: 1 To regard the supply chain as an economic system and an innovative introduction of systems economics into the research of the supply chain. 2.In the author' opinion, the supply chain is a typical self-organized economic system with the synergy among subsystems. 3.The research on the self - organization & the information asymmetry of SCES is relatively deep-going, providing theoretical interpretation to some phenomena in the supply chain practice. 4. the author presents the conditions for the SCES synergetic operation: the members' observance to some simple rules. |
