This research focuses on resource-constrained project scheduling and control. Though project management has developed for decades, network analysis techniques are still the most widely used method, which are very helpful in project planning, scheduling and resources allocation. Traditional network analysis techniques suppose that resources are unlimited, which isn't true in most cases, so the schedule usually isn't feasible. There have been a lot of research on resource-constrained project scheduling problem, but most of them ignore the calculation of float time. This study proposes a step-by-step resource-constrained CPM to consider those resource relationships. Hence, the method can identify real floats and correct critical paths. The method considers resource availability that makes a schedule more realistic, establishes resource relationships between activities, and correctly identifies total floats and the critical path. In addition, this method can recognize alternative activity schedules and provide a stable schedule with progress updates. This research also proposes an integrated technique that includes critical path method and the earned value(EV) approach to project management. The EV methodology is used for planning and tracking the project development. EV performance indexes like the CPI and the SPI are used to assess the project status and forecast the ending period of the project and the total project expenses. Based on the critical path, EV can better analysis the project schedule performance.
