Modular Manufacturing Projects, Member Information Management System

Modularity Structure has been used abroad in many regions, such as IT and equipment manufacturing. Modularity manufacturing project organization is a network production system, which is composed of a core enterprise and specialized firms. The functions of the core enterprise and firms in such organization are dynamic integrated. To achieve project goals, the most important task of the core enterprise is to make right decision in project manufacturing phase, using the individual information from firms. In the environment of asymmetry information, the core enterprise has to deal with problems, including how to efficiently make the firms signal individual information honestly, and how to manage the information and signaling process. The purpose of this research is to solve the information lack for supporting system decision, which arises prevalently in modularity manufacturing project and relevant regions.This research synthetically applies such theories as modularity manufacturing project management, knowledge management, organization design, mechanism design, trust and dynamic game with incomplete information. The structure and process of modularity project is analyzed firstly. Then the information space and information management process are analyzed. Finally, a dynamic game with incomplete information is used to describe the firm information management process in project manufacturing phase. The author's point is stated as followed, the core enterprise need incentive contract to make firms reveal individual information honestly, the dynamic management process of firm information can be described by "perfect Bayesian equilibrium", and the core enterprise should update its belief of a firm with Bayesian rules.This research finds that, ability and reputation are vital to firms in modularity manufacturing project, cost means much to reveal the firm's ability, and reputation is important to make firms reveal individual information and strengthen firms' ability. This research indicates that, as a series of institutional tools, the firm information management mechanism of modularity manufacturing project can help the core enterprise make firms reveal individual information honestly, and manage the information and signaling process. Through publicizing common information, the core enterprise can efficiently strengthen firms' ability about fulfilling project production.
