The author tried to find out a feasible solution for Chinese local firms in the background of rapid social changes, and offered the Chinese entrepreneurs some valuable suggestions for their operation in the global competitive business world. The dissertation is composed of 6 parts in all. The first part is to define the key terms, which can be the bases for the later parts. In the second part, the author describes the whole framework of leadership theory, including traits theory, behavioral theory and situational theory. The third part presents the current research situation of scholars home and abroad, which is the foundation of the author's research. The forth part is the main body of the dissertation, which focuses on the establishment of the charismatic leadership model of the Chinese local firms. The author has quoted the theory of American scholars, Jon P. Howell, Dan L. Costly and Afsaneh Nahavandi, among whom the former two scholars wrote the book of "Understanding Behaviors for Effective Leadership", and the latter wrote the book of "The Art and Science of Leadership". Although conducting researches on charismatic leadership independently, they have arrived at almost the same conclusion, that is, there are 3 key factors in forming the charismatic leadership: leaders' traits, subordinates' traits and the situation of leadership. Although in the process no empirical research being conducted by the author, the same conclusion from the two totally independent researches can justify the accuracy and persuasion of these constitutes. Then, the Five-dimension Culture Model has been introduced as intermediate variables for the whole model. The Five-dimension Culture Model is composed of 5 dimensions: individualism versus collectivism, risk avoidance, short-term orientated versus long-term orientated, femininity versus masculinity, and authority distance. Charismatic leadership can have huge driving forces for our local firms since China is undergoing great social changes in the following 3 aspects: reinforcing the employees' organizational commitment, facilitating organizational reforms, and establishing and maintaining enterprise competitiveness. The fifth part is the conclusion of this research, and in the sixth part the author indicates the limitation of this research and prospects the charismatic leadership research in the future.
