Port Research, And The Hinterland

A port is a media and a main drag between land and water transportation, a port is the front door of a port city, that is to say, a port is the gorge of a city and hinterland. In the development of a port, a hinterland is a very important factor and a hinterland is a base for a port to develop. The history of port sees that hinterland economy developing is a support to port developing. There is a tight string between a port and a hinterland.Port Dalian is the biggest port in northeast China and its development boosts the development of inland economy and net. At the same time, the economy development of inland supplies abundant goods for Port Dalian.The State Council put forward the national and policy to develop northeast old industrial base in Oct.2003. The policy document pointed out that we should build Dalian an important international shipping center in northeast Asia and it also a new chance and challenge for Dalian.The method of demonstration analysis study was used in the paper to do. some research on the relationships of Port Dalian and its hinterland to put forward some new ideas or the development of northeast old industrial base.There are four chapters in this paper.The first chapter-a summary of the relationship between a port and its hinterland. I will introduce some related research results national and international on this topic.Then I bring forward the paper's thought of study.The second chapter-an expatiation of basic rules on inter-development of a port and its hinterland. With the study of the developing history of world ports and the theory of regional development, three basic rules are included: the rule of cooperation and deduction; the rule of phrases deduction; the rule of development power.The third chapter-demonstration analysis. It is the main body of this paper. On the basic of theoretic researching, I analyzed the relationship between the PortDaLian and the hinterland in this section. First of all is the development of the Port Dalian and the division of the hinterland .Expatiating on the correlation between the developments of Port Dalian and upgrading the integrative function of the city,I qualitatively separated the scope of the haven's hinterland. Second, I analyzed the influence of the Port Dalian on the hinterland. I mostly analyzed the influence of the Port Dalian on the development of hinterland network, also the influence of basal establishment on the development of hinterland. Third, analyzed the hinterland on haven, I used the method of quantitative analysis, I used the software E-views to make the associative data processing, It proved that the haven throughputs and the hinterland economy have many affinities. According to the result, explained the reason that Port Dalian had slow tempo in 1990's. At the end of the article, I made a summary of the frontal disquisition.The forth chapter-policy recommendations. I put forward some recommendations on further development of Port Dalian and its hinterland based on the result of demonstration analysis. The recommendations include speeding up port infrastructure construction and port function exaltation, developing shipping industry and forming global transportation net, providing commercial and financial service for the northeast old industrial base and the unification of the development of a port and its hinterland.
