Taiwan Policy After The Cold War Adjustment And Its Impact

Taiwan issue is the internal affairs of China. Various international factors involved make this issue more extensive and complicated. The United States is the key factor for the occurring of Taiwan issue. Japan is America's most honest follower. And in some aspects it is Japan who does more than the United States to make this issue much worse.After the Cold War, with Japan's world economic power position ascertaining, the desire to be one of the Political Great Powers becomes extraordinarily intense for it. During the process of realizing this mission, Taiwan becomes a significant factor for its special position in economy, politics and strategy. Therefore, Japan adjusts its policy on Taiwan issue in all kinds of aspects step by step, such as the adjustment of the economy and trade relationship, the personnel communications and the military cooperation, etc. And with these efforts, Japan upgrades the real relations with Taiwan and cooperates with the authorities in Taiwan to push their relations developing continuously. Under its instigation, the Force of Taiwan Independence becomes much more radical to implement their secession acts. This has influenced the relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and the peaceful reunification of China. Also, it gravely disturbs the security environment and peaceful development policy of China and badly threatens the local peace, safety and stability,The adjustment of Japan's Taiwan policy after the Cold War is the result of different factors which act jointly. It is not only the internal reasons such as history complex, national strategy, the internal policy, economy and diplomacy strategy but also the external reasons including the change of international situation, the bribe of the "Taiwan Independence" to Japan and the USA factor that make this adjustment to be a necessary trend.In the foreseeable future, Japan will continue to adjust the policy on Taiwan issue and may launch an attack against China on this issue. What's more, it may take Taiwan as a "trump card" to suppress China's development. Therefore, we can never neglect Japan for the settlement of Taiwan Issue. And what we shall do is to master the initiative and act properly according to Japan's policy on Taiwan. For the realization of the reunification, we must pay more attention to the adjustment of Japan's policy and adjust our policy efficaciously in accordance with its change.
