With the rapid development of Internet, numbers of website increase quickly. Website is the direct surface to customer when operating business in web space, so its quality is the key to the success of business in net. To the operating website, how to evaluate present design of website objectively has an important reference value to improve website design and maintenance for website designer and manager. The main aim of website evaluation is to know the status quo of its operation, and to direct website designer and manager optimizing website in order to facilitate self-development of website through analysis of its status quo.This dissertation bases on DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) theory and uses researches about methods of website evaluation for reference. Through analyzing the features of several normal models of website evaluation presently, present evaluation methods focus on concrete contents, advanced application technology and satisfaction of customers' demands. And they don't relate to evaluation of website operation efficiency and there isn't a concrete and feasible evaluation scheme in practice application.Through study on DEA theory, this paper proposes an evaluation method of w ebsite efficiency based on DEA and designs index system of website efficiency eval uation. DEA method not only evaluates operation efficiency of website self, but als o can carry on comparison analysis among websites. This research provides qualitati ve, even quantitative improvement references for website manager and designer.At last, this paper chooses twelve tourism websites as evaluation objectives and evaluates their efficiency with method based on DEA. Then concrete application st eps of this method are summarized some research work can provide website manag er and relating researcher for reference.
