The Industrial Equipment Installation Company of Urumqi Petrochemical Complex Factory, subordinate to CNPC, is a medium-sized comprehensive enterprise whose main business includes constructing of petrol-chemical projects, overhauling and maintaining of petrol-chemical devices, and manufacturing of pressure containers. It faces some difficulties in the keenly competing construction and installation trades. By using the relevant knowledge of enterprise strategic management, this paper tries to put forward the future developing strategies and orientation for this company on the basis of deep analyses of the inner and outer circumstances of the company.First, this paper introduces the basic facts, developing progress and current situation of the company, briefly analyses and points out the company's current problems to prepare for the further analyses.By focusing firmly on the major policy background of the great development of petrol-chemical industries in Xinjiang, this paper makes detailed analyses on the environmental factors of outer market and conditions of main competing opponents, concludes that the company is confronted with rare favorable development chances in the special market shaped by the special geographic region and special customers.In the fourth part, by analyzing the inner conditions of the company, this paper reveals in depth the un-matched core competing ability of the company in this special market and also points out the inferior strength which seriously affects the company's competing ability.In the fifth part, this paper makes strategic analyses by using SWOT matrix, makes strategic selections on the basis of the practice of the company and the market, finally works out growing developing strategies with the core content of lateral integration for the company.In the sixth part, this paper sets forth the problems that the company should notice and solve while carrying out the strategies. Finally this paper explains the limitations of the study.
