Government relation is an important exterior relation among the net of organization's public relations, and activities aiming at good government relations become their vital public relations practice by organizations.In this paper, the main part studied is corporate which is growing in the market environments of today's China. First, it discusses the importance of good government relations to corporate, and then analyses the differences between the practice of normal public relations and that aiming at government, covering objects, objectives, routes, institutions and effects. Afterward, it studies the relation characters between government and both Chinese corporate and multinational ones, and then concludes their own ways of government relations practice. With China joining WTO, facing with the integrated world market, there will be new type of relations between government and corporate. How should corporate adjust their strategies on government relations accordingly? Here some analyses and predictions are made. To help to get more perspicuous understanding about government relations practice, it narrates both the successful and defeated experience by dint of two cases. Finally, it makes the conclusion on right attitudes toward the effects of government relations practice. That is: neglecting its effects is not proper, and neither is aggrandizing its effects.The paper is an attempt to combine theory and practice on public relations, especially on government relations. It aims at supplying some available reference and help to the corporate who hope to use good government relations as lubricant to get smoother and long-term development.
