In modern society,the labor union is a kind of important economic and political power,is an important society organization,and every modern civilized nation must value the existence of it and fully develop its functions. This thesis tries to sort out the theory of Marxist classical writers about the labor union's safeguarding function,historically study the labor union's functions of the socialism nations and draw lessons from the developed market economic nations,especially the different characters and successful experience of the labor union's safeguarding function of England, the United States, Japanese.This thesis analyses the historcal, economic, political and cultural reasons of the errors of China's labor union's safeguarding function and elaborates and expounds the necessity and actual situations of the labor union's safeguarding function in our current socialism market economy and in the process of economic and political transformation.
