Acting as one of the major sticking points in the global trade liberalization and convenience, the technical barriers to trade (TBT) has become an obstacle that influences China's foreign trade development. And how to face and deal with positively the new challenges composes the main problems that our government and enterprises should keep a close eye on. Based on the fundamental knowledge about the technical barriers to trade (TBT), the dissertation makes a relatively detailed and systematic description about the technical barriers to trade (TBT) of some developed countries and the impacts on China's foreign trade. In order to construct China's own system of the technical barriers to trade and utilize the positive effects of the TBT, it is significant both theoretically and practically for us to study and use for reference the system of TBT of the developed countries such as the US, Japan and the EU countries. In the meanwhile, based on the negative impacts of TBT on China's national economy and foreign trade, the dissertation brings forward strategic proposals from both government and enterprise points of view, expecting the domestic trade parties to implement sound and feasible countermeasures in the international trade and economic exchange and dealing reasonably with the durance and astriction caused by TBT on China within the framework of the WTO.
