The Duties Of Our Government In The Towns Poverty

Poverty in the town is an outstanding issue encountered in the transformation of Chinese society, so to help the poor there escape from poverty as soon as possible is duty-bound to the government. Solving such problem will be conducive to protecting the basic rights of poor people in the town, guaranteeing social order and promoting the development of economy and the whole society. This paper investigates in government responsibilities in anti-poverty in Chinese towns. Initially it analyses the causes of poverty in the town and also its impact to the society from actuality and character of destitute groups in the town, which provides a prerequisite to understand and solve such problem. Then, it expounds the achievements and the main existent problems in getting rid of poverty. The rudiment of anti-poverty system in the town has already been formed, but it still has some obverse problems in general for the reasons that every measure is still in the stage of exploring, establishing and standardizing and does not act in close cooperation. Lastly, it demonstrates the main and also the specific government responsibilities in anti-poverty in the town. To settle this problem is the bounden duty of the government, so the government should givepriority to the measures------improve the social security system and implement"re-employment program" in order to ensure the subsistence and the development of the impoverished groups in the town.
