As our society and economy transforms, the population of rural areas has changed rapidly, which reflect that family scale decreases, family structure oversimplifies, population migration from rural areas to urban areas has flowed frequently, at the same time, the occupation of people in rural areas become diversified and the phenomenon of aging become graver. All this tell us that our family-support pension pattern cannot meet the need for rural old people. At present the rural pension system in our country has some problem and was at a standstill. Where will the rural pension system go become a hotly debated question. As for the social development trend, the old-age supporting from family to society is a law, but the process is long and can be achieved from different way, especially in our country which because our economy development level is low and unbalanced , as well as our population will be still greatly changing in 20-30 years. Get rid of the family-support pattern for aging people is unrealistic. It's a problem and this dissertation tries to solve it.Compared with east rural area, the life of the west rural area old people is more difficult . They are confronted with more risky factors. The problem how to support the aged in western rural area is the subject of this dissertation. First we find population changing affect the resource supporting for the aged and affect aged-supporting pattern. It's both challenge and chance for our country's aged-supporting system. Addition to the conmen features, the west rural area people has some other features, such as population type transforms later than the east area; rural area population is higher than the east, high poor occurrence rate. When we try to resolve problem in the west, we must reform gradually and improve administration system, and so on. At last, the author thinks that a compounded pattern is the best choice.
