Taiwan has amended its"Constitution"for 7 times since the 1990s. In the recent years, the political issues of Taiwan society are all based on the topic of"constitutional reform". In this thesis, the author is to sort out the general conditions of the seven"constitutional amendments"in Taiwan. Starting with the causes of Taiwan government's decision of amending its"constitution", the author is to study the content of the amended"constitution"in the last 7 times. By comparing, analyzing and summarzing, the author will illustrate the features of"constitution amendment", its influences on Taiwan as well as the Mainland, and the prospect of the progress of"constitution amendment"in the future Taiwan. The thesis consists of an introduction, a body (which is made up of four chapters), and a conclusion.The 1st chapter discusses the causes of"constitution amendment"in Taiwan. As the seven"constitutional amendments"are sequentially related, the author is to focus on the causes of the first amendment in 1990.The author illustrates the results of the 7 amemdments in the 2nd chapter, on which the second half of the study of this thesis is based. The author verifies the details of the seven amendments by checking related documents from Taiwan, and generally discusses the main achievements of every amendment, which, in order to make the points in this thesis objective, reasonalbe and veritable, is based on the analysis of the text of the seven"amended constitutions".The 3rd chapter focuse on comparing,analyzing and generalizing the features of the seven amendments. In this part, the featues are discussed from three points of view, namely, the features of the amendments in terms of constitutional theory, the features of the six amendments in the Li Denghui's term, and the features of the last amendment in Cheng Shuibian's term.In the 4th chapter, the author sums up the influences of the seven amendments which have taken place in Taiwan, and, according to the features and results of these amendment, reasonably predicts the possible orientation that the future Taiwan's"constitutional reform"may lead to.
