From 1996 to 2009, the education of Juris Master (JM) Professional Degree has passed through for several years, and has become an important pattern of China's legal education and the legal personnel training system. Then JM education plays an important role in the development process of countries ruled by law. While we gain remarkable achievements, we should also note that many problems in the practice of JM education need to be faced and solved carefully. Therefore, this article is based on empirical investigation of china's JM education's present situation, and analyses existing questions in China's JM education and tries to put forward several reform proposals which are based on the massive statistical data.The first part of this paper explains training objectives of the education of JM Professional Degree through combing and analyzing policy documents of JM education. This part is based on the investigation of china's JM education's present situation, and reveals three major issues of current JM education. The expected training objectives of JM education has not been able to carry out. Training model deviates from the norm. The actual effect of JM education comes apart from the social demand.The second part proposes that we must further establish the new thought of JM education which is based on the clear positioning the training objectives of JM education. It is necessary to establish sense of responsibility the sacred mission of JM education, and also establish the education thought of the integration knowledge education and the flexible education.The third part proposes four actions to standardize scientifically JM education training in view of present drawbacks of JM education training. Improve the JM entrance examination. Establish reasonable JM curriculum system. Explore a variety of teaching methods. And allocate rationally educational resources.The fourth part analyses and studies the system consummation of JM education. Emphasize the perfect establishment of the working mechanism of JM direction committee. And construct the multi-level appraisal system of JM education in order to safeguard JM personnel training quality. Establish the omni-directional cooperation mechanism to promote JM education reform together.
