Pudong New Area Government Support The Development Of Service Outsourcing Industry: An Empirical Study

Service outsourcing means that an enterprise subcontracts the business of information service, application management, and business process to a third-party service provider outside the enterprise to reduce the cost, optimize industrial links and lift its core competitiveness. Now it has been the new growth point of the rapid development of Shanghai's productive service industry. Service outsourcing is a relatively new concept of international trade. At present, there is less theoretical work but more experiences. As for Pudong New Area, the practice of outsourcing business and professional services began in the 1990s.And now this area is attracting more international service outsourcing contracts. The government is trying its best to enlarge the scope of service outsourcing, improve the structure, engage in the global division and enhance the competitiveness under the background of fast development of service outsourcing. With a view to seizing the development opportunity and speeding up the shaping of industrial structure with service economy as the dominant factor, the thesis put forward several suggestions for government on promoting Shanghai's service outsourcing development.There are seven parts in this thesis: The introduction mainly discussed the study of service outsourcing in recent years. The first part overviewed the basic concept and theories of service outsourcing. The second part pays attention to development of the service outsourcing in Pudong New Area. The third part analyzes the advantage and disadvantage of developing service outsourcing in Pudong New Area. The fourth part puts forward the plan of developing service outsourcing in Pudong New Area. The fifth part puts forward some suggestions on the supportive measures for developing the service outsourcing industries from government prospective. The last part is conclusion.
