People's production and life style has changed dramatically with the arrival of the economic globalization and knowledge economy, especially in the network era. Since entering the new century, information technology has constantly inspired international education reform, which promotes the development of modern Chinese long-distance education and online education. Meanwhile, along with the development of computer network, online education has gradually evolved into a system, whose quality has attracted more and more attention.In the environment of online education, it is difficult for the learners to get the continuous learning guidance and feedback from the teacher because of the relative space-time constraint. So the teacher-student interaction in the online environment has become the main form of interaction between the teacher and the student. However the efficient use of the teacher-student interaction platform has proved to be not very high, also the teacher's and the student's participation tend to be low. Such circumstances lead to questions of how to make full use of the teacher-student interaction platform; how to ensure the teacher and students active participation and how to improve the existing platform to meet the needs of teachers and students?This research firstly summarizes the relevant theories of interaction in online education to provide the theory basis of teacher-student interaction, followed by the definition and category of teacher-student interaction. The author then analyses the posts of teacher-student interaction on the online education platform of S University, classifying and summarizing them according to who and what are available there. A questionnaire and several interviews are used to collect the data for the study. Finally, suggestions and comments are offered. It is hoped that the results of the research will provide reference for the further improvement of the teacher-student interaction platform.
