Inborn existing character and the need of further development both mark human life and confine it to the unfinished condition. However, culture distinguishes human itself from animals and help human survive in the competitive nature world and finally become the most outstanding species. Education, with great influence, becomes the internal mechanism that connects innate biological attribute and post-natal cultural acquisition, and causes natural person to be a cultural one.Influenced by utilitarianism, instrumentalism and technical ability, deviation of value orientation was established these days when education operation was systemized. Ignorance of souls and misinterpretation of life meaning send students into the recessive condition when taking their education, and students are not as energetic and creative as before. The problem of this kind of education mode is obvious in the higher vocational colleges that highlight career-oriented education and skills. This would cause students to feel inferior, ignore their life and emotion, confuse their prospects, and lack a sense of happiness etc. this lack of life education in the higher vocational college requires that life education should be maintained immediately.While, the present research and practice of life education illustrates that life education in the higher vocational colleges just takes the initial step and applies the normal life education mode. This thesis explicates the basic contents of life education and explores the practical L-E methods according to features of the higher vocational colleges and the need of college students.As L-E in higher vocational colleges are rich in many aspects, this thesis, by employing psychological and moral education experience, illustrates the basic contents of L-E from the five aspects:knowledge, emotion, will, activity and faith. Students will obtain the basic concept of the essence of life and self, and establish the right and subjective viewpoint toward life and death by learning to cherish life, respecting life and death education; they will learn more by acquire emotion education, which includes life meaning, life aesthetics and happiness education; they will be more pen-minded and tough by taking will education which focuses on attitudes and setbacks; their life will be more meaningful by implementing activity education, which includes interpersonal relationship education, survival education and career planning education; and the utilization of faith education, including form the right conviction and performing the faith activity, cooperated with knowledge, emotion, will and activity, makes students have a full life.After the construction of these basic elements, this thesis researches after the effective methods of life education. Six methods will be discussed in the following parts:promoting life education under right education theories; promoting teaching by life consciousness; adding life education within multi-disciplinary education; strengthening students' emotions of life through experience; illustrating life education based on psycho education; enriching life education with the harmonious campus culture.
