In modern times, the importance of English has been increasingly recognized by schools and parents. In this information age, cultural exchanges are more and more frequent between countries. Language is a tool for communication and thinking, and English is the most widely used language around the world. If you don't master appropriate language, it means the limitation of personal space. Therefore, an English education is globalization necessary for modern citizens.In June 1997, "the Conference on Bilingual Language Teaching" was held by the Education Cooperation Project between China and Canada in Xi'an and the Research Group of English Immersion was set up. Learning the successful theory and practice from French Immersion in Canada, early English Immersion project was carried out. This project aims to discuss the quality issues on our education of bilingual talents and to offer some ideas for improvement of teaching method in our traditional foreign language education'. The research has continued to the present, the project proved that the results of immersion teaching are obvious.At the graduate level, the researcher seriously study the new theory of English immersion teaching mode under the careful guidance of instructors and insist on participating regular teaching seminars on children English immersion in Xi'an in the second year of graduate study, I participate in Miss A's class for an observation of English teaching for as long as one year. This research focuses on the language reaction between children and teachers under the English immersion environment in the half-day activity. It researches how English teacher use the effective teaching strategy in the half-day activity in order to promote the child English level. It also dissects the classes to find the advantages and disadvantages of activities in order to provide theory and practice guidance for English immersion teachers in the kindergarten.The quantitative and qualitative methodologies are both used in this thesis. A lot of information about teacher-child language interaction is collected by on-the-spot observation and record of English Immersion class for as long as one year. The international Child Language Data Exchange System----CHILDES----is adopted to analyze the information collected by vedio tape. Quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis were both used in the research. The research findings are as follows:1. Developing innovative and interesting games by teachers can increase children's interest in learning English.2. Teachers use appropriate body language can be a timely and effective manner to help children understand and remember language.3. Teachers understand and apply the correct intuitive visualization can effectively help children use the language.4. The language input of other immersion time is also important.Suggestions based on the study findings above:1. An English immersion teacher should master the Pedagody stock of knowledge.2. English Immersion teachers should take the rhythm and degree of difficulty.3. A variety of strategies should be applied by teachers to check the situation of each child's language development.4. Teachers should develop a habit of recording teaching activities and ideas.5. Immersion teachers should enhance communication with other teachers.
