Gender Differences In Students Love Jealous

Recently, the researches about sex differences of romantic jealousy have became a hot topic. Basing on evolutionary psychology's theoretical hypothesis, taking college students as research target, using interview, questionnaire and experimental methods, this study tries to reveal the sex differences in college students'romantic jealousy.The present dissertation studied sex differences in romantic jealousy through three parts.In part 1, the background of this research were reviewed, this part summarizes the current study about romantic jealousy and sex differences both domestic and overseas. On this basis, points out the shortcomings of the domestic study, put forward the question: Whether the rivals'characters which induce romantic jealousy have sex differences or not?In part 2, three correlational researches were carried out around the question.Study 1 mainly discusses the relationship between intrasexual competition and intersexual selection, include 2 investigations. The first one uses interview to collect intersexual selection's characters; the second one uses open questionnaire to understand intrasexual competition's characters. The results indicate that the heterosexual features which male prefer are consistent with the characteristics of female competition, but the heterosexual features which female prefer are not consistent with the characteristics of male competition. At the same time, the sex differences of romantic jealousy were preliminarily confirmed.Study 2 selects the words which were frequently mentioned (more than 3 times) in study 1, then composes a questionnaire. Multivariate analysis and factor analysis show the rivals'characters induce romantic jealousy have sex differences: in contrast to women, the rivals which have social resources induce more men's jealousy; and more women jealousy was induced by rivals'attractive body.Study 3 takes Chinese characters as priming materials, uses subliminal priming paradigm to explore the subliminal perception features of romantic jealousy. The results show there is no priming effect, the possible reasons were illustrated in discussion.In part 3, the theories and researches were integrated, and the topic was further discussed. On the same time, this paper discussed about the theoretical foundation of this research, which called evolutionary psychology. In the end of this paper, the limitations and the problems which future researches need to solve were presented.
