| Art Education plays an important role for improving students'literacy and overall quality of art. California of United States and shanghai of China promulgated Secondary schools arts curriculum standards in 2004. This paper has two comparative research objects which are 2004 Shanghai Secondary schools arts curriculum standards (draft for asking for opinion) and Visual and Performing Arts Framework for California Public Schools (Middle Schools Part),it mainly bases above three topics to compare, analyze and study guiding principles, basic structure, purpose, content and requirements, implement principle and other problems of the texts of the two arts curriculum standards, and the three topics focuses on the following questions: What are differences and similarities between two arts curriculum standards; Where is the margin between the two secondary schools arts curriculum standards, and whether do they develop towards the same direction; What can be drawn lessons from Visual and Performing Arts Framework for California Public Schools for revising the arts curriculum standards of Shanghai?The thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter I is the introduction, it mainly talks about the background, purpose and meaning, the content and the object of study, defining the concepts and methods. Chapter II is review of relevant literature, mainly reviews relevant literature about the arts education and arts curriculum standards in China and the U.S. which laid the foundation for the paper's entire design. Chapter III analyzes the text of Visual and Performing Arts Framework for California Public Schools, it introduces and analyzes the content and nature of California Secondary schools Art Curriculum Standards from the basic structure, guiding principles, main content, design, implementation and evaluation, the main features, etc. Chapter IV compares, analyzes and researches several aspects around the"basic structure","basic idea","objectives and content","implementation of proposed",etc. of two areas'secondary schools Arts Curriculum standards. Chapter V is conclusions and recommendations, this part mainly obtains proposed amendments based on the conclusions that two standards in the"basic idea","basic structure","objectives and content"and"implementation of the recommendations"have similarities and differences: Firstly, the comprehensive arts curriculum challenges the existing art teacher, recommended to improve the overall quality of teachers through various means to meet the needs of an integrated arts curriculum; Secondly, good teaching effectiveness play a key role for achieving the objectives and values of art courses, the suggestion is that art teachers should have an teaching ability which adjust to integrated arts curriculum; Thirdly, the implementation of an integrated arts curriculum on the operation are confused, the suggestion is that we should increase the intensity of development and construction of arts curriculum resources; Fourth, the integrated nature of art course challenge teaching evaluation, we propose enhance teaching evaluation of integrated arts curriculum. |
