The 21st century is an informational era in which the human knowledge increasing rapidly and the rhythms of the world societies are speeding up obviously. With the development of the information technology based on the computer and internet, the concept of education is constantly changing and it is possible for the information technology and all subjects to integrate. English grammar teaching is a part of English teaching in vocational schools, and also is a difficult part in English teaching. At present, the monotonous teaching methods and mechanical ways of practicing are lacking in interest for the students. Normally, grammar is taught by Presentation, Practice, and Production approach. As a result, the students'ability to use the language comprehensive is very weak. Therefore, emphasis must be placed on fostering students' ability to utilize the English language comprehensively. Meanwhile, how to adopt a more effective grammar teaching method has become a noticeable study field.This thesis mainly examines how to make full use of the multimedia technology to solve the problems in grammar teaching, so as to improve teaching efficience and quality.Six chapters are included in this paper as follows:Chapterl describes the research background on the project and analyzes research significance. Chapter2 summaries the correlative research contents for the subject and introduces multimedia technology, connotations and characteristic on the multimedia assisted instruction.What's more, points out the problems in the current English grammar teaching. Chapter 3 introduces three theories. Chapter 4 deals with experimental and implementation phase. The paper researches with the method of the experimentation, the questionnaire in two originally classes. During the experiment, the multimedia technology has made full use of its advantages that is to set up a much real and vivid language learning environments for the students; give prominence to the practicality of the language and put students in the center of the learning progress.Via the experimental lectures, it shows the optimization of teaching through multimedia technology in the following aspects. A) To create real situations which is conductive to practical language teaching; B) To make the forms so that students can master the grammar in a systematic and effective way; C) To simplify the abstract so as to solve the important and difficult points. Chapter5 analyzes different experimental data. It is found that multimedia assisted instruction is helpful for vocational students to master learing emphasis, break through learing difficulties.The application of multimedia technology can optimize the process of English grammar teaching and improve the teaching efficiency. Chapter6 discusses the limitation of the experiment and makes careful analysis in some problems appeared in the application of the multimedia technology. At last, put forward some points which need to be discussed further.
