China's education is a typical exam-oriented education, this education in ancient Chinese society who have trained a large number of high-quality talents, enrich the bureaucracy in ancient China, but has already become history. With the progress of human civilization, compared to the acquisition of knowledge is growing concern about "people" their own development and needs, the traditional exam-oriented education system has increasingly become the shackles of human progress. Development of the society to adapt to globalization and market economy depends on the requirements of high-quality talent, we must advance with the times, to establish the quality of education in the new age talent, people-oriented, and survival of human life from the needs of teaching and make education service to individual growth, rather than make it a tool to enslave people.This paper has four parts: The first part describes the origin and development of examination-oriented education, and college entrance examination system, links with education, pointing out that today's exam-oriented education system and its orientation to the school of education, but also presents the teaching of history in the current embarrassment and lack of intention emphasized the inevitable trend of reform;The second part describes the understanding of quality education, intended to explain the development and progress of society requires the implementation of quality education, and to contact the current reform of basic education, to clarify the "people-oriented" teaching concept is fundamental to the target of education reform.
