The theory of multiple intelligences is one of the most influential educational psychological theories since the turn of the century. With the concerns on the development of student's healthy personality by modern education and the spread of the new course concepts, this theory is becoming more and more prominent. Based on analyzing the theory and understanding its thought intention, this text studied the present intelligent tendency of the high school students in Shandong province, optimized the strategies of the biological teaching in middle school after considering the survey results and the content of the high school biology course. The aim is to help the biological teachers raise the students' multi-dimensional intelligence by the biology teaching.The thesis uses the methods of literature research, investigation and experiment, etc. The following eight parts compose the body of this thesis:The first part is the question statement. This part introduces the background of selecting subject, the research situation of home and abroad, the research significance, the research purposes and methods briefly.The second part is the summary. This part presents the concept of the intelligent, divides the intelligence into two parts:the intellectual psychological testing theory and the intellectual cognitive structure theory, then expounds the multiple-intelligence theory in five respects:the background,the main contents,the scientific support the characters and the its limitations of the theory.The third part analysis is the feasibility of using the multiple-intelligence theory to guide the biology teaching in middle school from two aspects:the connections between the theory of multiple intelligences and the biological subject, the inspirations which the theory gave to the biology teachers.The fourth part is the survey of the present intelligent tendency of the high school students. According to the survey data, compare the development situation of students in different schools and also make a comparison between the male and female students. The conclusions are drawn as follows:it has a uniform development of the present intelligent of the students in high school, but it hasn't reach the excellent level and all of it has yet to be elevated. The Mathematics-logical intelligence and Naturalist intelligence of the students is weak. The different individual has a different intelligence development situation, everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses of intelligence and the different intelligences of the same body also have different intelligence development situations. The intelligence development situation of the students in key middle schools stands is better than that of the ordinary schools. Both the boys and the girls have their own intelligent strengths.The fifth part is the optimization of the biological teaching strategies in middle school. Based on the survey of the present intelligent tendency of the high school students, this text advanced some teaching strategies after considering the content of the high school biological course and the theory of multiple intelligences, and accounted for these strategies. The final part of the paragraph is a corresponding biology teaching cases.The sixth part is empirical research of the topic and the results analysis. Apply the strategies of the biological teaching in middle school to the practical teaching in order to test the effectiveness and the feasibility.The seventh part is conclusions. The author summarizes some conclusions in the study.The eighth part is discussion and recommendations.
