The ordinary high school history curriculum standard "(2003) (experimental draft)The basic idea of the curriculum has proposed ordinary high school history curriculum design and implement benefit students learning style changes,dvocate the student active learning, in diversification, open learning environment, give full play to students' initiative, enthusiasm and participation. Learning the course of history is also active participation, learning process. Now the country's high school history teacher is in an independent, the inquisition, cooperation, including new teaching mode. Among them, the autonomous learning is very important ways of learning. Due to the differences between China and the new curriculum reform throughout the implementation status is not the same. In order to accurately understand northwest high school students in China at present, the present situation of independent learning history further promote high school students history courses their autonomous learning ability, we did the study.This paper adopts literature method and questionnaire survey with the method of analytic the northwestern region in Ningxia hui autonomous region, Shanxi, Xinjiang uygur autonomous region three provinces, randomly chosen 23 middle school to high school history teacher, and high school students carried on the questionnaire survey found (1) most students have good study history motives, have the strong learning autonomy. (2) most of the schools give students the assignment is right amount, students complete history homework time mostly in half an hour. (3) most students like reading self-study method, learning history, but the way in different forms most data access self-study, the extracurricular study history way or compare onefold. (4) students to study in the use of resources, the utilization of library is very low,the utilization rate of network resources and reading books is relatively high, but still very low, learning resources needs to improve. (5) students with learning difficulties are very positive attitude, when meeting the historical learning difficulties are actively seeking when solving methods. (6)on history class teacher and student exchanges gradually increasing, but still have a part of students think have over distances with teacher, teachers still give rare time to in the classroom for students to explore independently, the teacher's lecture way still is the traditional way. (7) students feel they read self-study in active but the effect is not obvious.Based on the analysis of the teacher questionnaire, found about autonomous learning concept and teachers guide students' self-learning exist in the following phenomena:(1) most teachers' support and practice curriculum concept, but in the new concept and examination system hasn't found balance between the methods, namely how already applied curriculum concept, and can guarantee teaching result. (2) teachers of pedagogy, psychology and other professional knowledge have necessarily know or understand better. (3) Teachers like student have diligent in thinking; active thinking and good cooperation, organizational ability. With the concept of the new curriculum reform is the same. (4) From the time, the teacher gave students look decorate history homework is very reasonable, without taking up students' too much time after class. give students' autonomous learning in time of guarantee.In order to improve the students' self-study northwest area high school history of the status quo, improve the ability of autonomous learning history, according to the survey results, puts forward some proposals:cultivating students' history of motives. Ensure that students plenty of autonomous learning time. Teach students to correct reading self-study approach. Guide students actively face learning difficulties. Establishing harmonious relation between teacher and students. Promote students use learning resources.
