With the development of core strength in the field of sports, more and more people come to realize the importance of core strength’ effect on their majors. The article aims at trying to study the effect of core strength training on the skill stability of students who are major in table tennis by using literature method, data statistics method, Comparative analysis method and Experimental method. Dividing24senior students of Chengdu sport University who are major in table tennis into two groups:The experimental group and the control group (nine boys and three girls in each group).The experiment lasts nine weeks, during which, the experimental members do core training while the other group don’t. The experimental group and control group in teaching conditions are the same circumstances, according to the requirements of teaching experiment. Through the comparative analysis research and data processing, and draw the conclusion that:the core strength training has positive effect on the skill stability of students majoring in table tennis. The reasons are as follows:First, core strength could improve the effect of central nervous system to muscle, bodies center of gravity, the cooperation level between muscles, the speed of swing and recover and the speed of moving, so suggest the core strength should be popularized in physical quality training of table tennis, meanwhile, pay attention on the combination of core strength training with special technology.
