Since the new scheme of the national entrance exam began to be carried out in Jiangsu province in2008,It has greatly infuenced all aspects in geography teaching and learning.The article is intended to do as much research and analysis as possible on the status, the contents the methods,teaching management,the treatment to geography teachers as well as class changes. It also aims at trying to analyse the changes and differences in the course of reform,thus providing valuable references from teaching to further the reform and valuing some suggestions on how to improve geography teaching.The article first does some research into the background and the purpose of the08scheme compared to the three old schemes of3+X since2000year and analyse the purpose of new scheme as well as something not perfect. In trems of the status change of the subject,research is also done into the effect the new scheme has on the teaching。Though the number of the students who take the exam is almost equal to before,the status of the subject has decreased to some extent according to the importance and the changes in both the number of the students and the changes of the curriculum.On top of the above,the article also give some suggestions on the new scheme of Jiangsu province,such as correctly locating the function of the exam,futher refiring the level design and properly arranging the time of the academic level test. Lastly,the article also gives the writer’s personnal views on how to adapt the geography teaching to the new national entrance exam.
