Purpose:executive function is a kind of advanced cognitive function, it is the process when the brain completes complex cognitive tasks, controlling and adjusting all kinds of resources.Executive function is a hotspot of research on psychology, and it has an important influence on the person’s cognitive, emotional and other function.In our daily study and life, executive function affects children’s brain growth, not only play an important role on the cognitive activities, such as intelligence, learning, operations, inference and problem solving etc., but also has important influence on the emotional and social function. Abnormality of executive function will lead to the function of children’s behavior severely damaged. Mildly result in maneuvering levels declining, planning and decision-making ability dropping. Obvious abnormal behavior usually leads to self control ability reducing and result in difficulties on the attention transformation.This study plans to use the children who are in function development critical period as the research object, the basketball movement as the way of intervention, to do a one-time exercise intervention, then using cognitive task to measure each dimension of the executive function. This paper will put emphasis on studying the influence of different exercise duration on schoolchildren’s perform function and reveal the impact effect of it. Finally, provide scientific and effective solution on improving schoolchildren’s executive function, promoting intellectual development and physical and mental health.Methods:this study selected180people from four grade primary school randomly, divided into experimental group (90) and the control group (90).The two groups randomly divided into three groups of equal numbers, respectively as8minutes exercise group,8minutes exercise control group,15minutes exercise group,15minutes exercise control group,30minutes exercise group and30minutes exercise control group. The exercise time is the students’physical education class and the sports activities time in the afternoon. Exercise intervention programs are basketball.Respectively to do before and after measurement of the executive function on the six groups before and after the exercise, complete the measurement on the three sub functions of executive function on the computer, all procedures implemented through E-primel.l system. Use Flanker task to evaluate the inhibition function, use more-odd shifting task to evaluate the conversion function and through1-back task to evaluate the refresh function. Results:(1)Basketball can improve the executive function of primary school students.(2)The sport duration of the basketball is one of the main factors affecting the development of executive function. The influence of different exercise duration on executive function has difference.30minutes basketball sport brings a great improvement on the executive function (inhibition, refresh, conversion functions) of primary school students.15minutes basketball sport has a certain effect on promoting the students’inhibition function.8minutes basketball sport has no influence on the improvement of executive function. In the aspect of inhibition function:30minutes exercise intervention plan、15minutes exercise intervention plan is better than8minutes exercise intervention plan. In the aspect of conversion function:30minutes exercise intervention plan is better than8minutes exercise intervention plan-.15minutes exercise intervention plan; In the aspect of refresh function:30minutes exercise intervention plan is better than8minutes exercise intervention plan、15minutes exercise intervention plan.Conclusion:Basketball can improve the executive function of primary school students, but the sport duration of the basketball is one of the main factors affecting the development of executive function. Different durations of basketball training differences affect the results of the primary executive function.30minutes of basketball training brings a great improvement on the executive function of primary school students.
