Floating children in junior high school, as a special social group,are in a critical period of development and transition in life. Their special environmental background induces a series of psychological and behavioral problems, among which is academic procrastination, one hot issue the school education and family education are faced with.Therefore,it is urgent to go on a further study and develop effective intervention programs for academic procrastination of floating children currently.This research made an investigation on academic of floating children, using questionnaires and experiment, to implicit the status of academic procrastination of floating children in junior high school, focusing on the effects of self-time management intervention group training in academic procrastination of floating children.The following conclusions were drawn from the study:(1) There are significant differences on the levels of academic procrastination between floating children and non-floating children, the level of floating children’s academic procrastination is higher than that of non-floating children.There exists obvious difference on the three dimensions (lack of learning plan, poor state of learning, done learn not enough factors), except for the delay of learning behavior.(2) The academic procrastination of floating children is not significantly different in gender, with no obvious differences on the four factors.(3) On the poor state of learning and delay of learning behavior, there exists significant difference in grade on the level of academic procrastination of floating children; on the whole and lack of learning plan, there exists marginal significant difference; but there is no obvious difference in the dimension of done learn not enough.(4) There is significant difference in the education levels of parents on the four dimensions of academic procrastination.(5) On the delay of learning behavior, done learn not enough, there exists significant difference in parent-child relationship;on the whole and lack of learning plan, there exists marginal significant difference; but there is no obvious difference in the dimension of poor state of learning.(6) Self-time management training for reducing the academic procrastination is effective, which helped reduce the level of the academic procrastination of floating children.(7) The designed self-time management training programme is scientific and effective.
