Higher Vocational Education is an important part of higher education system inChina, and it also plays a special and important role in implementing the strategy ofscience and talent to make our country stronger. In recent years, with its rapiddevelopment, Higher Vocational Education has gradually taken half of the entire highereducation. However, at the same time, there appears many problems under the rapiddevelopment of Higher Vocational Education. The most serious ones are increasingdifficulty in recruiting students and the pressure of school’s survival.Due to the restriction of geography, Higher Vocational Education Colleges inunderdeveloped regions are disadvantaged groups, whose enrollment are more and moredifficult because of the bad situation in the students source competition. How to solvethe problem, how to open up the market of students source and how to stabilize thestudents in-take to promote school’s sustainable development are the priorities forvocational colleges in underdeveloped regions.According to sufficient investigation, in case of A university, the article analyzesthe admission policies and situations (external reasons), and the underdevelopedschool’s reform and its inflexible admission system (the inner reasons) from threeaspects: the market situation, quality and competition of students source in HigherVocational Education Colleges in underdeveloped regions. The approach to benefit theadmission of Higher Vocational Education Colleges in underdeveloped regions is putforward here: reforming the bad factors of admission environment; making effort toimprove school’s comprehensive strength and the training of qualified personnel;building multi-channel and diverse admission systems; making the rate of employmenta proof to promote recruiting students and showing school’s image and power withadvertising and so on. These analyses and summary can be a reference for recruitingstudents in the Higher Vocational Education Colleges in underdeveloped regions.
